The EFMD Virtual Career Fair Series by Highered, launched in Spring 2020, attracted more than 800 recruiters and 25,000 students and graduates from 112 schools in 35 countries.
Since 2017, the Highered Virtual Recruitment Platform has been available to more than 600 EFMD accredited school members around the world. Given the impossibility of companies and organisations to conduct traditional on-campus recruiting during COVID-19, the EFMD and Highered partnered to launch the Virtual Career Fair Series, available for talent at the schools supporting the initiative.
Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from schools, talent and recruiters, Highered chose to further increase the support to schools and recruiters already using the Highered platform. Starting this Fall, revolutionary support for virtual recruitment will be made available in the existing Highered platform and ecosystem giving both schools and organisations access to a virtual recruitment process.
“Everyone is looking for a way to engage virtually due to COVID-19. The question is how many virtual events will be possible to plan and attend,” says Bernt Blankholm, CEO of Highered.
From a recruiter standpoint, Aga Rogala, Talent Key Account Manager Europe at ABInBev, stated “Our chats were on fire! The fairs proved to be an extremely effective way of reaching talent at multiple schools within a very short time frame. We participated in the spring series and look forward to participating and sponsoring the EFMD Virtual Graduate Career Fairs this fall.”
This is exactly the enthusiasm on behalf of hiring managers that EFMD schools are excited to connect their talent with. Simon Mercado, Dean of ESCP (UK), congratulated EFMD and Highered “for a cutting edge event of the highest quality”, sharing that “student/alumni feedback is very positive.”
The virtual fairs entail a sophisticated job fair simulation environment that enables real-time interaction between recruiters and candidates, resulting in a more efficient and positive candidate experience. Alicia Algeo, a University of Southampton student, shared her experience. “Yesterday I attended the Highered EFMD Shared Career Services virtual career fair focused on banking and finance. Although unusual, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I learned more about the robust financial organisations such as Eurobank, ING, and Morgan Stanley. I am excited to attend the upcoming virtual careers fairs which focus on technology, the energy industry, and the biotechnology industry.”
With the Virtual Career Fair Series this Fall organised to increase relevance for all participants with an expected 2,000 recruiters and talent from more than 200 schools, we already see cost-effectiveness striking a chord in the global talent acquisition community.
Companies such as AB InBev, PepsiCo, PwC, EY, Richemont and NGOs such as The World Food Program (WFP) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will be looking to engage with talent virtually at the fairs attracting more than 35,000 talent, starting September 15th and running until November 19th.
