We are pleased to announce that Indonesia Financial Group Corporate University (IFG CorpU) has completed the EFMD Corporate Learning Improvement Process (CLIP) and received CLIP accreditation for a period of three years.

CLIP is a premier quality management tool for corporate learning. It benchmarks a learning function against international standards of strategic positioning, target market, learning offer, operational model and impact with a focus on digital, agile and international aspects.

Martin Moehrle, Director of Corporate Services and CLIP at EFMD Global, commented:

“Congratulations to Indonesia Financial Group’s Corporate University on their well-deserved CLIP accreditation. In just five years, IFG CorpU has developed into a mature platform that successfully translates the holding company’s strategic priorities into concrete and impactful capability development programmes. The integration of learning, leadership, and organisational culture is a key strength of IFG Corporate University.”

Indonesia Financial Group (IFG)

Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) is a state-owned holding company established by the Government of Indonesia to strengthen the nation’s non-bank financial sector through comprehensive insurance, guarantee and investment services.

The group oversees a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries, including general insurers, underwriting and guarantee providers, life and health insurance, asset management, securities and venture capital businesses, all underpinned by prudent governance and a commitment to transparency. IFG’s activities support risk protection for individuals and corporations, credit guarantees for small and medium-sized enterprises, and investment solutions that contribute to broader economic resilience and inclusion.

IFG also engages with communities through financial literacy and public health initiatives, reflecting a broader role in fostering both social and financial well-being. Its operations are guided by a focus on accountable, prudent service delivery and a goal to be a trusted partner in Indonesia’s financial services sector.

IFG Corporate University (IFG CorpU)

Indonesia Financial Group Corporate University was recognised by the EFMD Peer Review Team as a highly credible and strategically embedded corporate learning function that plays a central role in the group’s performance and transformation agenda.

In a holding that was established to raise standards across a historically low-performing insurance sector, IFGCU has developed a distinctive capacity to translate corporate priorities into focused capability building in areas of direct business relevance, including actuarial competence, underwriting and pricing, risk management, customer centricity and leadership. This close alignment between strategy, talent management and learning positioned the Corporate University as a true engine for execution across the group.

Governance structures that link learning with business priorities

The Peer Review Team found that IFGCU has established a coherent and well-structured leadership development architecture that supports the entire leadership pipeline. Programmes from early career through to senior leadership follow a clear progression logic and are designed to build consistently towards leadership excellence across the group.

Their design reflects contemporary good practice, combining behavioural evaluation, national values and strong partnerships with external institutions. Participants consistently reported that these programmes were relevant to their roles and immediately applicable in practice, reinforcing their impact on day-to-day leadership quality.

A defining strength of IFGCU is the depth of engagement from the group’s senior leadership. The Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors and subsidiary CEOs are actively involved in the governance and operation of the Corporate University through Learning Councils and Committees, talent reviews, programme launches, evaluations and review sessions.

This level of sponsorship grants IFGCU authority and legitimacy across the holding, ensuring that learning priorities remain closely aligned with business needs. The fact that four of the five Board members took part in the CLIP peer review itself was seen as a particularly strong signal of commitment.

Integrated leadership of culture and learning

The Peer Review Team also commended the organisational design that brings together the Corporate University and the Organisational Culture function under a single leadership. This dual mandate enables IFGCU to influence not only skills and knowledge but also values, behaviours and organisational cohesion.

Through onboarding, cultural initiation, leadership programmes and values deployment, the Corporate University reinforces the group’s aspiration to build both strong performance and a shared identity. This integration was seen as a powerful lever for strategic alignment and cultural consistency across the holding.

Equally important is the way IFGCU integrates learning across the holding and its diverse subsidiaries. A central team provides coherence in needs analysis, design, evaluation and leadership and soft skills development, while decentralised academies in the business units deliver technical training tailored to insurance, investment, capital markets and guarantee activities.

This architecture creates clarity of roles and strong operational collaboration, enabling IFGCU to combine group-wide standards with business-specific expertise.

Quality and credibility across the learning portfolio

The quality of learning delivery itself was another area of clear strength. Participants and stakeholders consistently highlighted the professionalism, relevance and credibility of programmes. Courses are well designed and facilitated, drawing on both internal experts and carefully selected external partners. This has generated a positive learner experience and a high level of trust in the Corporate University as a reliable partner for professional development.

Taken together, these factors led the Peer Review Team to conclude that IFGCU meets, and in key areas exceeds, the EFMD CLIP standards for a mature and strategically grounded corporate learning function. Its strong strategic positioning, leadership development architecture, senior management engagement, integrated organisational mandate and high-quality delivery provided a compelling basis for the unanimous recommendation to grant CLIP accreditation for a three-year period.

IFG President Director Hexana Tri Sasongko stated that the CLIP accreditation from EFMD is not only an institutional achievement but also a strategic foundation in developing IFG people who are oriented towards values, service, and global competitiveness.

“Business transformation will never outpace the quality of its people. We designed IFG Corporate University as a strategic tool to translate the company’s direction into tangible capabilities. This accreditation serves as the foundation for developing IFG employees who are professional and possess integrity,” Hexana said in a statement.
