Sincere Thoughts & Condolences from EFMD – Dianne Bevelander

On behalf of the Board of EFMD, EFMD members and staff, we were deeply saddened to hear of Dianne’s death.

Prof. Dianne Bevelander dedicated her career to advancing the position of women in society and business, setting up the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations. A Professor of Management Education at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, she served as Founding Executive Director of the centre for many years.

She was an engaged member of many EFMD committees, including the EFMD Programme Accreditation Board, where she also served as a quality reviewer as well as EFMD Annual Conference and MBA Steering Committees. She contributed with thought leadership to several Global Focus articles and steered debate through speeches and chairmanship during various EFMD and other international conferences.

She was the initiator of a grant proposal that led to the creation of the EQUAL4EUROPE project. This international consortium looks to develop tools and best practices for institutions to address gender imbalances in decision-making processes and better integrate gender themes into research and innovation content. It was one of the many examples of her outstanding contribution and involvement in international networks.

Dianne was a charismatic, visionary and inspiring leader. Her work and dedication will continue to galvanize professionals and academics worldwide to build on her legacy to strengthen women’s leadership agenda.

The management development community has lost an outstanding scholar and a genuine and beautiful person. Words can’t express our grief.

Our sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with our dear colleague and friend, Mike Page, her family, colleagues, and the whole academic community.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Sincerely yours,
Prof. Eric Cornuel, President, EFMD Global
