PLN Corporate University awarded 5-year EFMD CLIP re-accreditation

PLNCU

We are pleased to announce that PLN Corporate University (PLNCU) has completed the EFMD Corporate Learning Improvement Process (CLIP) and received CLIP re-accreditation for a five-year period.

CLIP is a premier quality management tool for corporate learning. It benchmarks a learning function against international standards of strategic positioning, target market, learning offer, operational model and impact with a focus on digital, agile and international aspects.

Martin Moehrle, Director of Corporate Services and CLIP at EFMD Global, commented:

“Congratulations to PLN Corporate University on achieving CLIP re-accreditation for a further five years. The Peer Review Team recognised a mature, strategically aligned learning function with clear organisational impact and particular strengths in enterprise-wide capability development, including the COLONY programme.”

PLN Corporate University (PLNCU)

PLN Corporate University (PLNCU) is the corporate learning function of PT PLN (Persero), Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company. Established in 2012, it develops employees’ capabilities across the PLN Group by aligning learning with the company’s strategic priorities, including energy transition, digitalisation, sustainability, and business transformation.

Through an enterprise-wide governance model, extensive internal and external partnerships, and technology-enabled learning, PLNCU integrates capability development with business performance.

Strategic innovation and impact

First awarded EFMD CLIP accreditation in 2023, PLNCU received re-accreditation on the basis of clear evidence of strategic maturity, organisational impact, and a strong commitment to PLN’s long-term priorities. The Peer Review Team (PRT) highlighted an organisation that has strengthened its role, moving beyond programme delivery to become an enterprise-wide capability partner closely aligned with business transformation.

The COLONY (Collaboration Learning and Innovation Opportunity) programme was identified as PLNCU’s most distinctive achievement and recognised as a Point of Excellence. It is described as a highly innovative community of practice combining structured learning, innovation projects, research, and business transformation within a single framework.

Expertise, partnerships and international reach

A defining feature is the organisation-wide approach to capability development, which stems from a large internal network of subject matter experts who contribute as instructors, mentors, and advisers, reinforcing knowledge sharing and reducing duplication.

The organisation also maintains a broad range of external partnerships that support benchmarking, co-creation, and knowledge exchange. It also benefits from international exposure through leadership networks and programme participation, expanding access to external expertise and practice.

Organisational alignment

The Corporate University is positioned as a strategic capability partner within the wider organisation, supported by sustained investment in staff development and integration with enterprise initiatives.

The review team concluded that PLNCU has established a high-quality corporate learning function with strong strategic alignment, organisational credibility, and the capability to support PLN’s long-term priorities.

Y Endah Cahyaningrum, CLO of PLN Corporate University, commented:

“Receiving the five-year CLIP re-accreditation is a meaningful recognition of PLN Corporate University’s continuous journey to strengthen corporate learning as a strategic enabler of PLN’s transformation. This achievement reflects our commitment to aligning learning more closely with business priorities, supported by the continuous enhancement of our governance model and Academy structure to better respond to the organisation’s evolving needs. The insights gained throughout the re-accreditation process will guide us in further strengthening our learning ecosystem, fostering collaboration across the PLN Group, and delivering relevant, impactful, and sustainable value to support the future of energy in Indonesia.”
