It is with deep sadness that we have learnt about the passing of our esteemed colleague and friend, Dr N.R. Parasuraman.

Dr Parasuraman’s contributions to our network and the wider academic community were significant, and he will be greatly missed.

He participated in five peer review visits for EFMD Programme Accreditation and was a dedicated member of the EFMD Programme Accreditation Board from 2019 to 2024. His expertise, fairness and commitment to quality assurance enriched the accreditation process and strengthened the standards of excellence upheld by EFMD.

Beyond his service to EFMD, Dr Parasuraman was Director and Senior Professor at the SDM Institute for Management Development in Mysore, India. A Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, and both a Commerce and Law graduate, he combined academic depth with extensive experience in finance. His special areas of teaching and research included strategy and finance. He authored widely used works such as Financial Management – A Step-by-Step Approach and Fundamentals of Financial Derivatives, which became reference points for both students and academics.

As we mourn the loss of this distinguished individual, we also celebrate his life and legacy. He touched our community with his insight, collegiality and professionalism, and his influence will continue to resonate through the institutions he served and the many students and colleagues he inspired. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all those whose lives were enriched by his exceptional career and humanity.
