“Congratulations to Mandiri Corporate University (MCU) and MLP Corporate University on their well-deserved CLIP re-accreditation. Both institutions exemplify what it means to position learning as a strategic enabler – integrating development deeply into business, talent, and transformation agendas. MCU’s alignment with digital and AI-driven priorities and MLP CU’s exemplary blend of academic rigour and practical delivery set strong standards in our global corporate learning community. We are proud to recognise their achievements and continued commitment to excellence.”
Mandiri Corporate University (MCU)
Established in 1998 as part of Indonesia’s bank restructuring programme, Bank Mandiri has undergone a significant transformation to become the country’s largest bank. Mandiri Corporate University (MCU) has played a central role in this journey, aligning its learning strategy with the bank’s digital transformation and its efforts to upskill and reskill employees for the digital age.
MCU as a strategic enabler and talent factory
The EFMD CLIP peer review team highlighted several strengths that contributed to MCU’s successful re-accreditation. The university was commended for its pivotal role in supporting Bank Mandiri’s corporate strategy. Signature programmes, including Strategic Business Leader for Wholesale Bankers and Digital Talent Readiness for the Future, were recognised for their extensive reach and alignment with organisational priorities. Annual planning and reporting processes, along with the active involvement of internal facilitators, were praised as exemplary practices that help translate business goals into effective learning initiatives.
The review team also noted Bank Mandiri’s strong reputation as a “talent factory,” supported by a well-integrated talent framework and an organisational mindset focused on continuous talent development. Managers are deeply involved in development planning, coaching, and mentoring, backed by MCU’s structured programmes. MCU’s penetration of its target market was underlined, reaching 99.7% of the workforce and achieving a high average net promoter score of 77.35 in 2024.
Resources and quality learning
MCU’s access to resources remains a major asset. Its modern, flagship campus in Jakarta is supported by additional locations across the country, a robust digital learning infrastructure, and an extensive network of internal and external facilitators. Despite budgetary limitations, MCU has demonstrated an impressive ability to allocate resources efficiently while maintaining high quality.
The peer review team highlighted the deep business insight and learning expertise within MCU’s staff. The practice of sourcing team members from business units helps ensure relevance and fosters strong organisational connections. Ongoing professional development and external benchmarking further strengthen MCU’s capacity to deliver effective learning solutions.
Operational transparency was also praised. The use of daily dashboards and monthly reports to monitor learning activities and outcomes demonstrates a high level of accountability. The systematic approach to evaluating learning impact—including regular level 3 and 4 assessments conducted in partnership with business units—was cited as a model of best practice.
Driving transformation
MCU’s proactive support for Bank Mandiri’s digital and AI-driven transformation was another area of distinction. Programmes aimed at building digital literacy and fostering a transformation mindset were seen as essential to the bank’s continued progress. MCU’s digitised learning portfolio and the My Learn app were highlighted as key tools in this effort.
The peer review team concluded that MCU stands out for its strategic alignment, talent development, resource management, staff expertise, operational excellence, and transformative role within Bank Mandiri. These strengths formed the basis for the unanimous recommendation to award CLIP re-accreditation for a further five years.
Dindin Rosyidin, SVP. Head of Mandiri Corporate University, Bank Mandiri, commented:
“Learning at Bank Mandiri is a continuous journey to strengthen its impact on our business and our people. CLIP is not just an accreditation for Bank Mandiri. It encourages us to pause, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose. We are grateful to EFMD for granting Bank Mandiri the renewal of its CLIP accreditation. This is an important milestone in the journey of Mandiri Corporate University. This reinforces our commitment to delivering meaningful learning and development for all employees across Bank Mandiri. Thank you, EFMD, for being part of our continuous learning journey.”
MLP Corporate University
MLP Corporate University (MLP CU) is the learning and development hub of MLP Finanzberatung SE, strategically positioned at the heart of the company. It delivers a comprehensive portfolio of blended learning programmes for consultants, employees, and external participants via the MLP School of Financial Education. Its offerings are integrated with the German academic system, enabling recognised qualifications—up to MBA level—alongside flexible and personalised learning pathways.
High visibility and strategic alignment
The CLIP peer review team highlighted several strengths of MLP CU, noting its deep integration within the company’s culture and strategy. Learning is recognised as a core value and a key driver of both corporate success and individual consultant performance. Its alignment with MLP’s annual strategic planning process ensures responsiveness to emerging business needs, while a direct reporting line to the CEO underscores its strategic significance.
MLP CU has established a sophisticated blended learning model, combining synchronous and asynchronous formats. Since the last accreditation, virtual participation has more than doubled, reflecting significant progress in digital learning delivery. Its learning design is now seen as exemplary, with a strong process in place to match modalities to learning objectives.
Flexible portfolio and high-quality delivery
The University offers a structured and academically recognised portfolio, underpinned by an internal credit system aligned with national higher education standards. This facilitates a culture of continuous learning and enables consultants to pursue external bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as advanced certifications in financial planning, coaching, and management.
A carefully curated pool of lecturers—drawn from internal consultants, staff, and external experts—ensures consistently high teaching quality. The selection process is rigorous, with continuous professional development in didactics and methodology required. Compensation structures are designed to attract and retain top talent.
MLP CU is seen as a strategic asset, contributing to the strength of the MLP brand both internally and externally. Internally, the connection between learning and performance is well recognised. Externally, the CU’s accreditations—including EFMD CLIP, FIBAA, and the Financial Planning Standards Board Germany—underscore its quality. The launch of the MLP School of Financial Education for external audiences further highlights its entrepreneurial approach and brand impact.
Continuous improvement and thought leadership
Since the last CLIP re-accreditation, MLP CU has addressed previously identified development areas, including blended learning, adaptability, and learner personalisation. Its strategic use of the CLIP framework, commitment to benchmarking, and culture of self-assessment position it as a model in the corporate learning space. Its programmes continue to earn formal recognition and international seals of quality.
These achievements led EFMD to grant MLP Corporate University CLIP re-accreditation, recognising it as a benchmark in corporate learning and development.
Carolin Gellert, Chief Learning Officer at MLP Corporate University, commented:
“Receiving the CLIP re-accreditation by EFMD for the third time is far more than a quality seal for us at MLP Corporate University – it is a strategic milestone on our journey to position learning as a key lever for future readiness. The CLIP process continually inspires us to think bigger, to challenge our standards, and to learn from the best. We are committed to continuously improving in order to best support our target groups – equipping them with the skills and mindset to grow, adapt, and shape the future of MLP. This re-accreditation reflects the extraordinary dedication of our CU team and motivates us to keep evolving our role as a driver of transformation and a builder of future capabilities.”
