The BSIS evaluation team identified several key strengths, including Centrum PUCP’s strong commitment to social impact, reflected in its mission, vision, and values, as well as the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its activities. They also highlighted the growth and quality of our research, measuring its results and integrating it into teaching, curriculum design, and talent development.

Addressing the school for this achievement, BSIS Director François Bonvalet remarked:

“Congratulations to Centrum PUCP for being awarded the BSIS Label. This recognition reflects the school’s steadfast dedication to excellence in business education, societal impact, and sustainable development. Centrum PUCP has shown exceptional leadership in fostering positive change across Peru and the wider Latin American region. We are proud to welcome them into the distinguished group of institutions that uphold the highest standards of impact and responsibility in higher education.”

Centrum PUCP

Centrum PUCP is the business school established in 2001 by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) founded in 1917. Centrum PUCP is the first and only business school in Peru to hold four accreditations, including EQUIS. It is one of only eight business schools in Latin America to have achieved this distinction.

Centrum PUCP offers a comprehensive range of programmes, including DBA, MBA (in both English and Spanish), executive education, and specialised master’s degrees, and has served over 50,000 students to date. Located in Lima, CENTRUM PUCP is committed to providing high-quality business education and fostering sustainable global development.

Driving business growth and leadership development

Centrum PUCP has reinforced its role as a key driver of business and societal change, earning recognition from the BSIS review team for its leadership in research, regional engagement, and sustainable development. Its commitment to innovation and impact extends across multiple dimensions, positioning the institution as an influential force in Peru and internationally.

Commitment to CSR and sustainability

A core strength of the school is its deep integration of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability into both academic programmes and institutional operations. It ensures that all students receive instruction in CSR, with faculty embedding these principles into their teaching.

Its alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is evident in research, conferences, and publications, supported by an innovative Research Impact Model.

Contribution to business development and entrepreneurship

Beyond sustainability initiatives, Centrum PUCP is also a key driver of business development and entrepreneurship. Through initiatives like ProLab, it bridges academic knowledge with practical business applications, fostering economic growth and innovation.

Partnerships with more than 100 organisations enhance executive education and professional development opportunities. The school’s strong alumni network, with graduates frequently advancing to leadership positions, further strengthens its reputation for producing high-calibre professionals.

Strengthening the regional ecosystem

Centrum PUCP plays a vital role in strengthening the regional ecosystem, fostering institutional collaboration, expanding knowledge-sharing and international partnerships.

Proactive engagement with local authorities and businesses amplifies its regional impact through tailored training programmes that support SMEs, social enterprises, and underrepresented groups. The school also contributes to the formalisation of informal businesses, aligning with Peru’s broader economic priorities.

Building a global presence

On the international stage, Centrum PUCP has cultivated a strong global presence. It maintains partnerships with 35 strategic institutions worldwide, facilitating student and faculty exchanges, business simulations, and joint research projects.

With nearly 40% of its full-time faculty drawn from international backgrounds, the school enhances academic diversity and strengthens its global reputation. Its triple accreditation underscores a commitment to academic excellence, while inclusion in rankings such as Better World MBA (8th worldwide) and relevant ratings such as the PIR – Positive Impact Rating (Level 5 Pioneering School) highlights its innovation and positive impact.

A dedication to societal impact is evident in scholarship programmes, executive education for disadvantaged communities, and active engagement with policymakers. The upcoming 25th anniversary presents a strategic opportunity to showcase its contributions further. The BSIS team concluded that Centrum PUCP not only excels in its core mission but also serves as a model for how business schools can drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond.

Professor Beatrice Avolio, Director General PUCP, commented:

“As a leading business school in Peru, Centrum PUCP is committed to making a meaningful and measurable impact on the economic and social development of the country. The BSIS process and Label confirm that our purpose to educate, inspire, and support individuals and organisations in developing positive businesses that foster inclusion, create lasting impact, and drive innovability for societal prosperity is being fulfilled.”

About BSIS

The Business School Impact System (BSIS) is the first comprehensive impact assessment tool for business schools, covering more than 130 indicators across seven dimensions of impact. It provides a tailor-made data collection system for monitoring, assessing, and developing the impact of business schools.

The BSIS process involves the definition of the impact zone and institutional scope, data collection, impact assessment, and the report with recommendations for future development. Demonstrating the school’s impact on internal and external stakeholders, the system serves as a communication and negotiation tool externally and fosters an impact culture within the school. Schools that undergo BSIS are awarded the BSIS Label for a three-year period.
