In Memoriam: Honouring the lives and legacies of Francisco Mazzucca and Bohdan Budzan
It is with deep sadness that we have learnt about the recent passing of two esteemed colleagues and friends of the EFMD community, Francisco Mazzucca and Bohdan Budzan.
Their contributions to our network and the broader academic and professional landscapes were immeasurable, and they will be sorely missed.
Francisco Mazzucca served as EFMD’s Advisor for the Americas from 2014 to 2017 and was a dedicated member of the EQUIS Accreditation Board from 2008 to 2015. Francisco’s remarkable career included significant roles, such as the deanship of EAESP – Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo, Brazil. His wisdom, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of management education have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working with him.
Bohdan Budzan, Founder and President of MIM (International Management Institute), which laid the ground for modern management education in Ukraine, was a respected member of the EFMD Board in the early 2000s and served diligently on the EDAF (EFMD Deans Across Frontiers) Committee. Bohdan’s tireless efforts to promote high standards of management education in Ukraine and beyond were an inspiration. His vision and dedication played a crucial role in shaping the success and reputation of the institutions he was part of.
As we mourn the loss of these distinguished individuals, we also celebrate their lives and legacies. They have touched our community with their insights, humanity, and professionalism, profoundly impacting the EFMD network and the broader educational environment. Our thoughts are with their families, friends, and those touched by their exceptional lives.
On behalf of the entire EFMD family, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences.
Warm regards,
Eric Cornuel
