Invitation to the International Doctoral Seminars

The Doctoral School of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (WUEB) is pleased to invite you to join the discussion in a series of International Doctoral Seminars which will be held online.

Objectives:

  • presentation of doctoral students’ research;
  • creating an international forum of discussion between doctoral students and established academics;
  • exchange of research experience.

The topic of the Thirteenth Seminar: Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research

Schedule:

16:00 – Welcome address: Prof. Bogusława Drelich-Skulska (Vice-Rector for Accreditation and International Cooperation) and Prof. Czesław Zając (Dean of Doctoral School of the WUEB)

16:15 – Opening lecture by a keynote speaker: Radu Godina (NOVA School of Science and Technology, FCT NOVA, NOVA University Lisbon) – AI’s Role in Research: Distribution or Evolution?

Radu Godina is currently an Assistant Professor at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, FCT NOVA, NOVA UNIVERSITY LISBON. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal. Radu Godina is an Integrated Research Member of the Research and Development Unit in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (UNIDEMI), which is part of the Associated Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (LASI), located in Guimarães, Portugal.

He has authored or co-authored more than 175 indexed international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings papers on topics such as industrial symbiosis, sustainability, lean manufacturing, electric vehicles, circular economy, life cycle assessment, and quality control. He has published with 25 international universities and 10 distinct enterprises and/or corporations.
