Since 2007, the EFMD Excellence in Practice (EiP) Awards have recognised outstanding and impactful client-supplier partnerships in the domains of Organisational, Talent, Leadership and Professional Development.

The 2024 Gold Award Winners in the following four categories are:

Organisational Development

Securitas & IMD

Securitas organisational transformation to ‘Help make your world a safer place

Helena Andreas, Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, Securitas AB, had this to say about the award, ‘We are honoured to receive this recognition, as it reflects our commitment to serving clients and investing in our people. With a 90-year legacy, it’s in our DNA to evolve and innovate. I’m so proud of the hard work we have put in to ensure Securitas remains at the forefront of security. ’

Tom Malnight, Professor of Strategy and Management, IMD, commented, ‘IMD’s partnership with Securitas demonstrates the power of listening to, engaging with and empowering executives from across an organisation to shape and execute transformation. Our IMD team has also benefited by challenging how we view our role well beyond traditional teaching to constantly developing new insights and ways of engaging.’

Talent Development

Kier Group & Cranfield School of Management

Building talent for sustainable futures

Megan Williams, Senior Learning, Development & Talent Manager, Kier Group, noted, ‘Our vision of building a resilient and diverse talent pipeline that breaks the Kier leadership paradigm and challenges construction industry stereotypes was the driving force for this programme. It was a strategic imperative! We are delighted to have our achievements recognised by EFMD.’

Chris Coghlan, Executive Development Director, Cranfield School of Management, added, ‘We are totally committed to inspiring and equipping industry professionals to create impact in their organisations. We are already so proud of how every Kier participant transformed their knowledge into action. EFMD’s prestigious award is a testament to the power of effective executive education.’

Leadership Development

Bayer & IMD

“Leadership upskilling at Bayer: IMD sprints for scale, speed and impact”

Beatrice Rodriguez, Chief Talent & Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer, Bayer, observed, ‘Our leadership sprint was created with the goal of supporting leaders in re-setting, re-framing, and contextualizing what it means to lead in an evolving environment. This experience proved that you can scale and deliver a leadership journey in an agile way for more than 12,000 leaders in only eight months. It fostered innovative thinking and had a big impact on leadership development. One of the key benefits we saw was the amplification of diverse leadership connections – groups of leaders that had never worked together started to self-organize, collaborate, and learn because of the connections they built. We extend our sincere gratitude to our participants worldwide for their engagement and dedication, and to our partners at IMD for orchestrating and delivering this truly transformative learning journey.’

‘The IMD/Bayer Sprint was a remarkable story of collaboration-close partnering between Bayer and IMD from the outset to align on individual and collective objectives and to jointly design a compelling and innovative learning experience. The deployment of the IMD/Bayer Sprint enabled us to make good on our promise to deliver impact at scale and at speed and created impressive momentum within Bayer, fostering cultural transformation and nurturing continuous learning and growth. Heartfelt thanks to the team at Bayer and the team at IMD for their unwavering dedication, spirit of innovation, and inspiring collaboration, which have been instrumental in shaping the success of this programme.’ said Paul Hunter, Director of Programmes and Learning Design, IMD.

Professional Development

Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) & ERG Corporate University

Creating safe and sustainable future in the mining sector

Akmaral Naizabekova, Chief Human Resources Officer, Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), commented, ‘We are highly honoured to receive this recognition from EFMD and the golden award. The success of the project is primarily due to the well-coordinated interaction between the business and the Corporate University, where everyone’s joint effort on a task has ensured the sustainability of the organisation.’

‘Receiving the EFMD Golden EiP award is a huge success for us. This project was developed in the context of work practices, external challenges and modern processes, technologies, and training methods. This turn opens new ideas for addressing other business issues of ERG,’ added Valentina Satarova, Head of ERG Corporate University.

‘This year, the applicants once again impressed the jury with their exceptional and inspiring contributions. The EiP brought together a diverse array of professionals to formalise, share, and review impactful practices. Congratulations to all, and as always, we look forward to the discussions at the next Executive Development Conference in London.’ added Jan Ginneberge, Senior Advisor at EFMD Corporate Services.

EFMD is eager to provide visibility and support to all professionals in the L&D sector. The winners will be awarded during the next EFMD Executive Development Conference on 2-3 October 2024, hosted by London Business School.
