FIA – Fundação Instituto de Administração

FIA – Fundação Instituto de Administração is a private, non-profit institution founded in 1980 by professors from the Business Administration Department of the University of São Paulo (USP). Its core mission is to foster the advancement and dissemination of management expertise in Brazil through consultancy, executive education, and extension programs. FIA Profuturo extends FIA’s International MBA programs with the same underlying philosophy.

International Executive MBA

The International Executive MBA stands as FIA’s flagship program. It aims to empower experienced business leaders with a global perspective, enabling them to conceive and guide strategy execution in competitive landscapes. Much like FIA itself, this program enjoys significant recognition in Brazil. The recent EFMD Programme accreditation noted its steadfast focus on students, exemplified by rigorous cohort oversight and its demonstrated effectiveness in shaping graduates’ careers.

International MBA

Launched in 2008, the International MBA caters to a younger student cohort seeking to solidify their grasp of general and strategic management and develop a global business vision and leadership skills to prepare them for international leadership roles. In Brazil, it enjoys a strong reputation among both companies and prospective candidates, primarily for its international orientation and distinction as an English-taught program. The EFMD accreditation commended the programme for its student-centred pedagogy and emphasis on personal development and its tangible impact on graduates’ transitions toward international managerial positions.

‘We are very pleased with the accreditation of FIA Business School’s international programs. The process of organizing our team over many months to meet the requirements of the mentor and the peer review team shows the seriousness and commitment to teaching and learning, as well as relevant institutional changes that were indicated and have been adopted. We hope to soon begin a new stage with the EQUIS accreditation,’ commented Mauricio Jucá de Queiroz, Dean, FIA Business School.

MBA Centre and Global Management Education Institute of Shanghai University, Master of Business Administration – English track (Global Local MBA)

Shanghai University, the largest in Shanghai and a prominent public institution in China, accommodates over 40,000 students in its diverse undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. SHU is regarded as a research-intensive university with a strong focus on internationalisation. Among its five dedicated units in Business, Management, and Economics education and research, the MBA Centre and Global Management Education Institute stands out as the sole entity within the university providing MBA education.

The Master of Business Administration (English track) aligns with SHU’s international outlook. Its primary objective is to enhance candidates’ management knowledge and leadership skills, equipping them to tackle the intricacies of an increasingly globalised world. The program places a strong emphasis on the ‘whole-person development’ approach, fostering both personal and professional advancement. The recent EFMD Programme accreditation recognised the program for its supportive institutional environment and availability of resources which enable the successful execution of its strategic initiatives.

‘The achievement of the EFMD accreditation is the best recognition we can have to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Shanghai University MBA. During these years, we have strived to offer a world-class education, and this accreditation is tangible proof that we are walking in the right direction. It is also a strong recognition for our stakeholders, university, companies, lecturers, faculty, and especially students and graduates; they are the main beneficiaries of this achievement. Thanks EFMD for helping us to become a better programme. We look forward to continuing to improve in the next 20 years with you,’ said Tian Meng, Managing Director, MBA Center and Global Management Education Institute.
