ESSCA MOOC Creative Box

ESSCA

This Member Spotlight highlights ESSCA Online Campus in France and its Creative Box Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Many thanks to Dr. Orsolya Sadik-Rozsnyai, Head of Essca Online Campus, for her contribution.

ESCCA ESSCA, a triple-accredited French business school (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) launched the Creative Box MOOC in 2015. The success was then quickly set in motion and the Creative Box MOOC was named Best MOOC designed by a university or school and received the Teaser of the Year award by a jury of industry experts, human resources managers and Internet users. The awards were presented by My Mooc, Le Journal du Net (JDN) and Google France. Those numerous awards testify to its quality. But what exactly is the MOOC Creative Box?

In short, the MOOC is a free 4-week online course open to everyone with the main objective of developing the creativity of its participants by offering them the opportunity to develop their own innovative idea. But in reality, the MOOC is much more than that…

A very large part of the audience is composed of entrepreneurs, employees with a startup project in mind or even people in professional reconversion. The MOOC offers them a unique path where they can refine and develop their innovative idea and even confront it to the market. Indeed, the MOOC offers its users a very relevant peer review process that highlights two important things about this entrepreneurial community:

Their creativity

Indeed, the MOOC is followed by many future entrepreneurs and startupers who can not only acquire the major tools and methods to launch a business, but also test their ideas. They can do so with potential customers of their surroundings. Moreover, thanks to this peer review, they can confront their ideas with other future entrepreneurs, allowing them to enrich their own innovative idea but also to put themselves in the shoes of investors (by evaluating those of others). They thus become able to better understand their requirements.

Their resourcefulness

By following a project template developed by the MOOC team based on good business practices, participants implement a design thinking approach and, starting from a well-defined target consumer (the persona), they create an innovative idea that can then serve as the basis for their entrepreneurial adventure. This step-by-step approach was so appreciated by the participants that the school decided to integrate it into all its online programmes.

Further to the success of this MOOC and to meet the ambitious online teaching and learning strategy of the school, ESSCA Online Campus was launched in January 2021. It proposes 100% online courses on subjects at the cutting edge of innovation and digital. Indeed, digital technology has radically changed the way companies operate today, creating new challenges as well as new careers. ESSCA Online Campus emphasises this major aspect of our society by offering different types of programmes like its MSc International Business 4.0 with specialisations: Fintech, Green & Digital Transformation and Luxury.
