2019 Excellence in Practice Gold Award Winners

EFMD is delighted to announce the 2019 EFMD Excellence in Practice Gold Award Winners.

Since 2007, The EFMD Excellence in Practice (EiP) Awards recognise outstanding and impactful client-supplier partnerships in the domains of Leadership, Professional, Talent and Organisational Development.

The 2019 Gold Award Winners in the following five categories are:

Organisational Development

“Accelerating Digital Transformation at Thailand’s Oldest Bank”

“We are humbled by this recognition of our ongoing partnership with SCB, which seeks to improve the lives of its customers and its employees and contribute to the economic growth of Thailand,” commented Mikolaj Jan Piskorski, Professor of Strategy and Innovation at IMD.

Mr Worawat Suvagondha, First Executive Vice-President and Head of Agile Capability Development at SCB also shared his delight: “We are pleased, honoured and humbled to accept this award in joint partnership with IMD whom we have long admired and respected. An enormous salute to all of this year’s nominees each of whom have made incredible contributions for the success of this outcome.”

Talent Development
Chola MS General Insurance & Management Development Centre, Murugappa Group
“Cluster Leadership Programme – Developing Frontline Leadership Excellence”

“The vision was to conceptualize, design and deliver a program that instils ownership and responsibility. We started with what could accelerate the identified role success and developed an experience that’s focused on learning addressing accelerators. We can now cite hard business data showing their transformation from taskmasters to accountable business leaders,” said Manoj Kumar Jaiswal, EVP and Head Management Development Centre at Murugappa Group.

Endo Pharmaceuticals & LIW
“Endo Pharmaceuticals: Top Team Drives Business Transformation”

Greg Horne, Senior Consultant at LIW commented on the award: “LIW and Endo are delighted to receive this EiP Gold award recognizing the outstanding achievements of Patrick Barry and his team driving transformation throughout the business, supported by our high performing team approach that incorporates a powerful team assessment and development tool.”

Professional Development

“Building Client-Centricity for Growth in Africa”

Ecosystem Development
Tribal Resources Investment Corporation (TRICORP) & University of Victoria, Gustavson School of Business
“Aboriginal Canadian Entrepreneurs”

“We’re proud of the ACE programs and the difference they are making in the lives of our people and in the economic self-reliance of our Indigenous communities. This prestigious international honour validates the power in a partnership where we work together and learn from each other by bridging Indigenous culture with the key principles of entrepreneurship,” commented Frank Parnell, CEO of TRICORP.

Dr. Brent Mainprize, Aboriginal Canadian Entrepreneurs (ACE) Program Director at the University of Victoria, Gustavson School of Business added: “It is an honour to be invited by TRICORP to co-design the ACE program to provide prospective entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge and mentorship needed to successfully start a business, serve their communities with confidence, and foster entrepreneurial development while using their Indigenous heritage.  Indigenous businesses and communities in Canada hold tremendous potential to revitalise regional economies and contribute to prosperity and well-being for all Canadians.”

Finally, Prof. Eric Cornuel, Director General and CEO of EFMD, congratulated all the winners on the EiP Gold Awards: “We are delighted to continue recognising the strength of partnerships which enhance the Learning & Development within an organisation. This year, we came across many exceptional cases illustrating the assets of investing in human and organisational development.”

Providing an environment that helps to engage and develop people and enhances skills is an essential component for any company. All of the winning cases clearly show that investing in human and organisational development is a key strategic asset for business success.

EFMD is eager to provide visibility and support to all professionals in the L&D sector. The Winners will be awarded during the next EFMD Executive Development Conference which will be held at IESE in Spain on 11-13 November 2019.

We would like to thank all of the applicants as well as the jury members for their successful cooperation and hope to receive more exciting cases next year. We are pleased to take note of the continuously growing quality of applications. As well as the Gold Award winners there were Silver Award winners and also Finalists selected from all of the entries.
