In Memoriam: Professor Per-Jonas Eliaeson

Professor Per-Jonas Eliaeson

It is with deep sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Professor Per-Jonas Eliaeson, one of the founding members of EFMD and a valued member of our community.

Per-Jonas was a distinguished figure in Swedish and international management education. He served as President of the Stockholm School of Economics from 1970 to 1986. His leadership left a lasting imprint on Swedish business education and contributed significantly to its global standing.

Per-Jonas played a pivotal role in the early development of EFMD and remained closely connected to our network throughout the years. His commitment to excellence in management education was evident in his active engagement with EQUIS, undertaking seven peer review visits with great dedication and professionalism. His insight, fairness, and experience were deeply appreciated by the institutions he served and his peers.

As an EFMD Honorary Member, Per-Jonas embodied the spirit of collaboration and generosity that defines our community. He combined intellectual distinction with warmth, energy and genuine interest in people. Those who had the pleasure of meeting him will remember not only his significant professional contributions but also his remarkable personal qualities.

Per-Jonas leaves a lasting legacy within EFMD and across the global management education. He will be profoundly missed by colleagues and friends around the world.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.

On behalf of the entire EFMD family, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences.

Warm regards,
