AIA Celebrates LIFT Certification Milestone
We are delighted to announce that AIA Group Limited (“AIA” or the “Group”), through its Group Learning Team, has successfully completed EFMD’s LIFT Learning Impact Certification. Warm congratulations!
The LIFT certification was created using inputs from over 30 organisations, including CLIP-accredited learning functions and EQUIS-accredited business schools. LIFT was piloted in 2023 and was officially launched in February of 2024, certifying learning functions from leading companies, including the UEFA Academy, La Poste Group’s École de la Banque et du Réseau, JLL France, and Sopra Steria Academy.
AIA and Group Capability Development
AIA and its subsidiaries comprise the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group. Established in Shanghai in 1919, AIA has expanded its presence to 18 markets across Asia, emerging as a market leader in the region based on life insurance premiums. The company employs nearly 26,000 people and is dedicated to its Purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.
To realise this mission, AIA implemented the Ascend 200 strategy in 2020. Supporting the execution of this strategy is the group-wide strategic capability building agenda “Catalyst for Growth” (CFG), which focuses on building a future-ready workforce and nurturing leaders who can drive sustainable business growth. All CFG programmes are aligned to Ascend 200, sponsored by a Group Executive Committee member, and offer immersive learning journeys for carefully selected learners.
Steven Smith, Senior Advisor, Corporate Services and LIFT Lead, EFMD Global, remarked, “The AIA Group Learning Team has shown remarkable openness and engagement in the LIFT process, along with a dedication to continuous improvement. As a key enabler of AIA’s Ascend 200 strategy execution, the AIA Group Learning Team aligns closely with AIA’s Purpose and organisational priorities. They effectively engage stakeholders in developing learning solutions that match AIA’s strategic goals, implement thorough nomination processes to ensure their learning solutions deliver impact, and consistently apply their methodologies to create a strong participant experience. These efforts highlight the learning team’s contribution to embedding AIA’s Purpose, nurturing its culture, building a future-ready workforce, and ultimately delivering impactful results for their employees, organisation, and clients.”
Cara Ang, AIA Group Chief Human Resources Officer said, “We are immensely proud to receive the LIFT Learning Impact Certification from EFMD, a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. This recognition underscores our dedication to equipping our people with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing world. At AIA, we believe that investing in our employees’ growth is crucial in achieving our mission of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives. This certification not only validates our efforts but also motivates us to continually strive for excellence in our leadership and learning initiatives.”
