EFMD Global is pleased to announce the election of three new members to its Board of Trustees, ratified during the 2026 General Assembly. The appointments further strengthen the Board’s international composition and bring extensive experience in management education, accreditation, and institutional leadership.
Joining the Board are Yolande Chan, Dean and James McGill Professor at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University (Canada); Şuhnaz Yılmaz Özbağcı, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Koç University (Türkiye); and Ian Fenwick, Director of Sasin School of Management (Thailand).
Yolande Chan
Through collaboration, dialogue, and global engagement, I look forward to contributing meaningfully to the Board’s work and to EFMD Global’s mission.
Dean and James McGill Professor at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University, Yolande Chan has been an active contributor to EFMD Global, more recently as an EQUIS Peer Reviewer and Chair of the EFMD Deans Conference 2024. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
Looking ahead to her role on the Board of Trustees, Chan emphasises the need to pair innovation with responsibility. Her priorities include the responsible integration of digital technologies and AI, entrepreneurship and innovation, ethical leadership, inclusion, and sustainability in management education.
Şuhnaz Yılmaz Özbağcı
I believe EFMD’s unique community has the power to inspire transformative leadership across regions and generations.
Şuhnaz Yılmaz Özbağcı serves as Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Koç University. She has been closely involved with EFMD Global through her work as an EQUIS Accreditation Board Member, EQUIS Internationalisation Task Force Member, and BSIS Expert, contributing to quality enhancement and internationalisation across management education.
With her appointment to the board, Şuhnaz intends to strengthen the EFMD community through inclusive dialogue, international partnerships, and peer learning. She also advocates management education that responds to technological disruption, global uncertainty, and societal challenges, while encouraging innovation in teaching, research, and institutional transformation, including the ethical integration of AI.
Ian Fenwick
As a member of the EFMD Board of Trustees, I would contribute by supporting innovation and international collaboration in management education while reinforcing the relevance and global connectedness of business schools.
Director of the Sasin School of Management, Ian Fenwick, has supported EFMD Global as an EFMD Asia Advisory Board Member, EQUIS Peer Reviewer, and Lead Expert for BSIS Assessment Teams.
His priorities as a Trustee include strengthening international collaboration and institutional quality, and strategic dialogue on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, lifelong learning, and the evolving expectations of learners. He also highlights the importance of ensuring that accreditation and institutional development continue to support schools across diverse regional contexts.
The Board of Trustees plays a central role in guiding EFMD Global’s strategic direction and supporting its mission to advance management development worldwide. We look forward to working with the new Board members as they begin their term.
