University Graduate Study Programme in Economics of Entrepreneurship (EE)

The University Graduate Study Programme in Economics of Entrepreneurship (EE) at the University of Zagreb is a two-year programme that leads to a Master of Economics degree. It provides students with a solid foundation in economics and business, preparing them for a variety of roles in small, medium, and large enterprises, both domestically and internationally. The goal of the programme is to introduce students to new business and IT insights, concepts and entrepreneurial business models. It is performed in the field of social sciences — in the area of economics.

One of its key strengths is its emphasis on real-world experience. Internships are a compulsory component of the programme, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills in a practical setting. In addition, many courses incorporate real-world projects, case studies, guest lectures from practitioners, and field trips.

This strong connection to the business world ensures that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges of the job market. The peer review team noted that programme graduates are highly employable, with 77% finding jobs within six months of graduation. Graduates often take on roles in accounting, finance, marketing, human resource management, project management, and information technology.

Innovative teaching and career-ready skills

The programme is also notable for its interdisciplinary approach, linking together economics and business with information technologies and digitalisation. This unique combination of skills is highly valued by employers, and graduates are well-positioned to take advantage of the growing demand for professionals with expertise in both areas.

The EE programme also fosters a supportive learning environment. Students benefit from individualised learning support from faculty, who are highly responsive to student queries and effectively utilise online platforms to facilitate communication and provide assistance. It utilises a mix of traditional and innovative teaching methods, including work-based learning, problem-based learning, and the flipped classroom approach.

In addition, tutoring from high-achieving students is available in some courses, further enhancing the personalised academic support provided to students. Beyond academics, the programme recognises the importance of personal development and provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, collaborate on projects, and engage in meaningful extracurricular activities through various student associations.

The programme offers a comprehensive and well-rounded educational experience, equipping graduates with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience they need to succeed in today’s business environment.
