Established in 1875, the Catholic University of the West (UCO) is among Western France’s oldest universities, historically holding a prominent position in the region’s higher education landscape. It is designed to equip students for admission to premier master’s programmes and aims to cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary for future international corporate executives, managers, and entrepreneurs. Recognised by the EFMD Programme Accreditation, it employs a student-centric learning approach emphasising individual student focus and personal guidance on employability. Moreover, it fosters professional exposure through active engagement with the corporate sector, ensuring a nuanced understanding of the practical world.

‘The EFMD accreditation marks the first international accreditation for the UCO, a significant achievement for our university hosting 1,150 international students from 81 countries. This accomplishment provides a new opportunity to enhance our international standing through innovative research collaborations, joint programmes, and exchange opportunities that benefit both students and faculty. EFMD accreditation certifies that the Bachelor’s Programme in International Management, Economics, and Ethics meets rigorous international standards and focuses on quality and continuous improvement, keeping pace with the evolving demands of global education and industry trends.
