Favela Fundos & Central Única das Favelas (CUFA) & Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC)
“Favela Business School”

Ana Flávia Rezende, Professor, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (formerly a professor at FDC), commented, ‘The Favela Business School is an initiative that emerged to break through the challenge of accessing peripheral territories and build a solid content that adheres to the reality, the language and the characteristics of favela entrepreneurship. Through partnerships between FDC, CUFA and Favela Fundos, the school has become an ecosystem for boosting peripheral and favela entrepreneurship, which seeks to transform the reality of Brazilian favelas and peripheries. Despite the stigmas and prejudices based on negative stereotypes, the school emerges with a perspective of recognizing the favela as a potency, a place propelling creativity, resilience, and innovative capacity. With access to opportunities, it is possible to build a fairer and less unequal society.’

‘The favela has a voice; it just needs to be amplified. The Favela Business School provides the tools for entrepreneurs from this territory to leverage their business, through entrepreneurial training, mentoring with experienced professionals, access to capital, and access to the market,’ added Cleo Santana, Relationship & Ecosystem Director, Favela Fundos.
