Congratulations to ALBA Graduate Business School, BMI and SDMIMD for their EPAS re-accreditations

We are glad to announce that the following schools and their programmes went successfully through the EPAS re-accreditation process:

ALBA Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece

BMI – Baltic Management Institute

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD)

Alfons Sauquet, Director, Quality Services & EQUIS at EFMD, said: “Congratulations to all the re-accredited institutions. We would like to commend them for their continued progress in the overall development of the programmes.”

ALBA Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece presents a synergy of strong corporate links with the academic strength of the resident and visiting international faculty. The faculty model enables the School to combine academic rigour, international exposure and a current practitioner focus in its programmes.

The MSc in Strategic Human Resource Management programme has built secure connections with the world of practice and offers up-to-date content with exceptional research-active faculty.

The MSc in Finance also enjoys a good reputation, which is proved by the quality of the graduates and their high placement rate. The rigorous and updated programme meets corporate needs.

“It is indeed with great pleasure to accept the re-accreditation of our Alba MSc in Finance and MSc in Human Resource Management Programs for the next five years. The EPAS re-accreditation, a major distinction for our Programs, reveals the high academic quality of both Programs and reflects the commitment of Alba on quality business education as well as on our continuous strive for academic excellence. And on that, the high academic standards of EFMD and EPAS are of great support,” commented Kostas Axarloglou, Dean, ALBA Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece.

One of the core activities of the Baltic Management Institute (BMI) is the administration of an Executive MBA (EMBA) for senior managers in Lithuania and neighbouring countries, designed and delivered by a consortium of four established Western European business schools and a local university, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU).

The 4-Continent Executive Master of Business Administration programme’s objective is to provide managers and entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to successfully and responsibly lead organisations in a dynamic international marketplace, creating value for stakeholders. The programme can be proud of its enthusiastic and committed faculty, management and administration.

“The EFMD has again recognised the reliable high quality of the BMI International EMBA, including its international academic credentials, its practical real-world relevance and the unique value that our very actively engaged alumni add. This is important as BMI continues growing as an agile modern educator of executives and entering highly competitive markets, like with the new joint UCLouvain and BMI version of our International EMBA in Brussels,” said Jaunius Pusvaškis, Director General at BMI.

The Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) is a research-informed teaching institution with a reputation in the regional and national contexts. The school provides a good learning environment and excellent campus surroundings.

An influential ERS-oriented culture characterises the Post Graduate Diploma in Management programme – ERS is designed into the curriculum within courses as themes and as separate courses. The programme is coherent with the mission of the Institute and responds well to corporate needs. The project work through internships enables students to gain work experience in organisations, undertake research and provide recommendations to the host organisation. The activities are highly appropriate to the programme as they effectively provide some practical experience to supplement the academic aspects.

N.R.Parasuraman, Director, SDM Institute for Management Development, commented: “The EPAS accreditation process in 2016 and the subsequent re-accreditation preparation have been extremely useful to our Institute. It will be no exaggeration to say that the entire academic outlook and quality management in the school has dramatically improved, thanks to the timely inputs from EFMD at various stages. We seek to continuously imbibe the true spirit of EFMD accreditation in the years to come.”

EPAS was launched in 2005, and over the last 14 years, it has had a considerable impact on the quality of business school programmes all over the world. Programme accreditation from EFMD is one of the most demanding yet effective ways to certify the quality of a programme in the field of business and management.

There are currently 122 + 3* EPAS-accredited programmes on offer at 89 + 2* institutions across 35 countries. For more information, visit the EPAS website or the EFMD Accredited website.

* The first programmes from two pilot institutions received the new EFMD Programme Accreditation in October 2019.
