Five schools successfully re-accredited

We are happy to announce that the following five schools were recently re-accredited by EQUIS. Many congratulations to:

EQUIS is a rigorous tool to assess, certify and improve the school’s quality in ten key areas, including governance, programmes, students, faculty, research and, foremost, internationalisation, ethics, responsibility and sustainability as well as corporate engagement.

Over the years, Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) has done outstanding work positioning itself as an international business school, strengthening its corporate connections and ensuring the rigour and relevance of its research and educational programmes. “The EQUIS process is an excellent strategic development tool for SSE. It helps us to achieve our goal of being a top-tier business school in Europe and makes SSE even more competitive in the international arena. We appreciate the thorough work of the experienced re-accreditation Peer Review Team and I would also like to thank a large number of colleagues, students, alumni, corporate partners and Board members at SSE who have contributed during the re-accreditation process,” commented Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics.

At the heart of Graduate School of Management, St. Petersburg University, are its corporate connections. The school’s commitment and engagement are an example of best practice and without a doubt its most outstanding and distinctive features.

The EQUIS international quality benchmark and improvement process were created to give business schools worldwide a rigorous tool to assess, certify and improve their quality. This framework has context and strategy at its heart. An accredited school should have a clear vision for its future direction from which its medium-term objectives are derived, taking into account the School’s environmental context.

Strongly committed to the future of Venezuela, IESA seeks to develop future leaders responsible and ready to tackle challenges of the future. IESA shows considerable strength in executive education, combining robust management of marketing and innovation with a very professional approach. IESA can be proud of its innovations in that area. Gustavo Roosen, President & Dean at Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA), commented: “This was the third time we received the visit of the Peer Review Team (PRT). We find particularly valuable both the comments received during this process and in the report we received later. The EQUIS recommendations are an important input for our next strategic planning exercise. We are proud to have this recognition of the work we are doing in such a turbulent world.”

ITAM business school runs all its programmes with a high degree of professionalism. Executive Education is a strong and viable pillar of the business school. The institution is very well regarded nationally and benefits from excellent corporate connections. The school also pursues its path for ethics, responsibility and sustainability by including ethical and social dimensions in their programme curricula. “ITAM Business School is proud of our continuous improvement initiatives. Third-party international accreditation provides compelling and independent evidence that such initiatives are high-calibre, and that our faculty, staff, students and alumni are all committed to the pursuit of academic excellence to serve our communities,” commented on the recent success Deans Deans Mónica Sacristán and Francisco Pérez-Gonzalez.

Accredited five times before, Aix-Marseille has systematically worked towards continuous improvement while simultaneously continued to develop its strengths, a very strong student-centred approach and the mission to ‘empower humanistic leadership.’ “I am very proud of this achievement which is the result of a great teamwork. EQUIS is not only a quality label, it is also a goal that helps improve our school, empower our faculty and staff members and generate positive energy among all stakeholders”, commented Virginie de Barnier, Dean of the Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management.

EQUIS is not only a quality assessment but also a quality improvement process, very much rooted in the mission of EFMD. As David Saunders, the Dean of Smith School of Business at the Queen’s University in Canada and former Chairman of the EQUIS Accreditation Board, once commented: “No matter how good your school is, you can always improve and that is a critical core component of EQUIS – continuous improvement.”

David Asch, the Quality Services and EQUIS Director, added: “My congratulations to all the schools that have successfully gone through the EQUIS re-accreditation process. Their commitment to continuous quality improvement in all these areas is exemplary. We are happy to accompany them on their journey towards excellence.”

There are currently no substitutes for such an in-depth assessment of quality. EQUIS has now accredited 180 schools across 44 countries. Be part of 1 % of leading Business School. More information on our website.
